RTE6700 – Multi-Function travel document reader

The RTE6700 is a compact, multi-function reader ideally suited to the demands of the busy passenger processing environment.

With both magnetic and optical reading capability, the RTE6700 travel document reader captures data from all ICAO compliant MRTDs including passports, visas and travel cards plus TATs, ATB coupons, cheques and magnetic stripe cards.

The RTE6700 travel document reader facilitates the movement of passengers through terminal buildings and immigration areas. The speed of customer transactions is improved easing the pressure on check-in desks and ticket counters.

Use of the RTE6700 travel document reader by international airlines enables their passengers to enjoy the clearance benefits of Advance Passenger Information Systems (APIS). In addition the travel document reader can also capture the Stock Control Number off airline tickets, both TAT and ATB as well as the FSN and Ticket numbers. Integrated barcode reading can capture the IATA barcode from a TAT in the same swipe. This information can be used for ticket fraud prevention, revenue accounting and yield management. The MSR will quickly collect Frequent Flyer, credit card and ATB data for uplifting to your host computer.

Operation is by simple hand-swipe and a wide swipe speed tolerance ensures a high first time read rate. The RTE6700 travel document reader’s compact design and small footprint make it ideal for desktop areas where space is restricted. An optional rotating desk stand increases desk space, improves security, conceals cabling and ensures maximum ease of use.

Industry standard host connections and interfaces allow the RTE6700 travel document reader to be easily integrated into existing systems and an additional port enables a barcode scanner such as the RTE641L or other serial device to be connected.
